Note in a Time of Pestilence

These are unprecedented times in which we wonder how many friends and loved ones may fall victim to coronavirus, and when normal economic activity can resume and erase some of the job and financial market losses. For my part I feel lucky in that my business model adapts well to social distancing. My office is sufficiently isolated that I can use it when I wish without fear of endangering myself or others, and working from home is not an issue when your resources are mostly cloud-based. Even most of my court practice can go on normally (although jury trials are on hold). So I count myself fortunate. My heart goes out to people in retail, food and beverage, and other sectors which do not lend themselves to teleworking will be among the hardest hit in these times. And I can't express my full admiration for the health care workers who are doing their best to protect us all. Everyone stay safe and keep up your courage.
